Champion a Coding Club this Cyber Weekend with Tech Will Save Us

Monday 20th November

Here at Tech Will Save Us, we don’t believe in doing things the way they’ve always been done. What we do believe in is the power of kids and tech to change the world. So we’re putting our (and your) money where our mouth is: this Cyber Weekend, you can take a 20% discount on your basket* or donate that money to one of three incredible coding clubs.

Our Cyber Weekend coding club promotion will be running from Thursday, November 23rd at 6pm (GMT) / 1pm (EST) until Tuesday, November 28th at 10am (GMT) / 5am (EST).

Here’s a bit more about the incredible coding clubs we’re supporting:

CodeChangers provides engaging after-school and summer camp experiences in Utah, Nevada, California, and Mexico. Their experiences are targeted at students ages 8-18. They have their own online platform that students can access online to learn web development and programming, and supplement those activities with tactile, hands-on experiences.

CodeChangers believe that students should be exposed to technology at a young age to help fuel their creativity and to prepare them for technical careers in the future. They believe that a focus on building a technology pipeline will create more homes with stable incomes, helping society for generations to come.

They plan to use donations from Tech Will Save Us customers to fund a scholarship for underprivileged students who otherwise could not afford to attend.

Girls Go Digital

Girls_Go_Digital_Cyber_WeekendGirls Go Digital is a girls only computer science and technology camp that provides girls with the opportunity to be introduced to a concept, technology or practice around hacking, coding, designing, and making. Girls are empowered by the presence of positive female role models who encourage participation and achievement. All this while having so much fun they don’t realize they’re acquiring skills that equip them to solve 21st century problems!

The 21st century is becoming increasingly complex and with that comes complex problems. Girls Go Digital believes that girls can— and will be—part of the solution. Providing girls with positive experiences with coding and computer science is where 21st century problem-solving starts.

Girls Go Digital will donate all donations towards full and partial needs-based fee waivers to attend their summer camps.

Code Club UK (Raspberry Pi Foundation)

At Code Club UK, they believe all children should have the opportunity to learn to code, no matter who they are or where they come from. That’s why they support a nationwide network of volunteers and educators who run free coding clubs where young people aged 9-13 build and share their ideas, learning along the way.

Their projects gradually introduce coding concepts to allow young people to build their knowledge incrementally, which also means there’s no need for the adult running the session to be a computing expert.

Code Club UK is part of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, a registered charity in the UK. They plan to use donations to continue to provide and improve their curriculum, train and support Code Club volunteers, and reach more children.

Help us spread the word about #TWSUCodes – share our post and give the gift of invention this Cyber Weekend.
