Our Investors Explain Why They Joined Our Mission

We believe that the future will be brighter if kids are empowered to build & create with technology. We’re incredibly excited to invite you – our customers and community – to join us through our Seedrs crowdfunding campaign

Today, we’d like you to meet our existing investor network, a group of like-minded individuals, that are just as eager as we are to bring the Tech Will Save Us mission to as many living rooms & kitchen tables around the world and have been an integral part of the Tech Will Save Us journey so far.

Richard Fearn: The Friday Club

Richard Fearn has been part of the Tech Will Save Us investor network since September 2016. Richard is also the founder and director of The Friday Club London, a not-for-profit events company aimed at driving valuable connections between start-ups and the wider business ecosystem. He has invested and partnered with a wide range of start-ups, from the London based music events company Sofar Sounds to Buzzbike, a subscription service for bike renting.

“Now is a great time to invest in Tech Will Save Us. So much of the hard, grounding work to establish the business for success has been done.”

Alvaro del Rio: Partner at Initial Capital

Alvaro del Rio has been part of the Tech Will Save Us investor network & board member since January 2018. With 15 years of experience as an investor in different asset classes, his current focus is on Seed-stage companies in the sectors of games, interactive entertainment, consumer services and technology enablers. He has led investments in 80+ companies and has sat on 20+ company boards across geographies.

“I believe the current ‘perfect storm’ will lead to rapid growth in the use of digitally enabled learning tools that are adequately priced, rapidly delivered & provide a delightful level of customer service. When I think about that combination of factors, Tech Will Save Us is the best-positioned company I can think of. That’s why I am inviting you to invest with us and share the journey.”

Sarah Turner: Founder of Angel Academe

Sarah is an entrepreneur and angel investor in women-founded tech businesses through Angel Academe. She’s spent her career in digital technology in the UK, Europe, US and Asia. In 2014 she founded Angel Academe to encourage more women to become angel investors in early-stage tech startups. She’s grown the network to 400 registered investors (70% women) who have collectively invested over £6m into 25 high-growth potential, women-led tech startups. Sarah has been part of the Tech Will Save Us investor network since Month Year.

Sarah explains why investing in EdTech is so crucial during the current climate:

“There are going to be some sectors of the economy that are going to benefit from the current situation and EdTech is one of those. Children are being educated remotely, parents are going to have to get more involved in the education of their kids.”

Alex Brunicki: Backed

Alex Brunicki is a Co-Founder & Partner at Backed VC, a community-driven VC fund, based in London, which invests at seed stage across Europe. He has invested and partnered with startups across Europe, including music video stream service Boiler Room, startup accelerator The Family and an artificially intelligent music composer: Jukedeck.
