What is the Speaker kit?
With the Speaker kit, kids construct their own speaker that can be amplified using various materials found or crafted in the household.
What do you learn with this kit?
Kids learn about electronics through play by soldering components to build their own customisable speaker. Once built they can then amplify with different materials to alter and explore the sound of their speaker.
What is the recommended age?
10 years and up. Aimed at those who want to tackle more advanced projects, though we think it’s a fantastic kit for anyone who is interested in sound electronics!
Does it include a soldering iron?
No. If you don’t already have one, any introductory soldering iron should do the trick. Nothing fancy – soldering irons are relatively inexpensive, handy for future projects and you can find them in most craft shops, or online!
Does it include batteries?
No, you’ll need a single 9V battery to power your speaker.
